We got Vaccinated! Thanks to ICCI.
Have you received your COVID-19 vaccine shot yet? Well, we just did. We believe there should never be a delay in enacting our social responsibility of keeping the community safe. And what better way to do so, than doing it as a team. COVID-19 vaccines have now become available for people aged 19 and above in Pakistan. The government is trying its best to curb the spread of the virus by encouraging every citizen to get their dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The authorities regulating the administration of the vaccine in Pakistan have been proactive in making this possible and it was on May 16, 2021, that the National Command and Control Center (NCOC) opened vaccine registrations for citizens aged 19 and above.
Sedenius Technologies considers that utmost priority should be given to the safety of the community against COVID-19, and in this regard, we have been encouraging our team members to get their COVID-19 shots as soon as they are opened for their respective age groups by the government. We have been strictly adhering to the SOPs defined by the government, because of which more than 50% of our team works from home. Moreover, SOPs like wearing masks, distanced seating, and distribution and use of personal sanitizers, are ensured at our office.
Following the specified safety rules, Sedenius Technologies had already announced that it will sponsor vaccine shots for its team and their family members – if in case they wish to receive them privately – earlier in May 2021. However, the service of administering COVID vaccines by private hospitals and clinics was halted for breaking the cold chain to keep the vaccine active and effective. This meant that everyone had to get the vaccine from the government declared centers once the registrations for the respective age group would be announced by the government as open.
Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (ICCI) rose to the occasion to facilitate us in this regard and offered us an exclusive service. They had set up a vaccination center at the ICCI headquarters in G-8 Islamabad, in collaboration with NCOC and Shifa International Hospital. This facility was exclusively opened for the vaccination of the business community – the employees as well as their families – on Monday, 7th June 2021, and Tuesday, 8th June 2021 between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Our team members and their family members who had registered for the vaccination service offered by the government and had received the confirmation code, got their first vaccine shot at the vaccination center opened by ICCI.
The management and staff at the vaccination center were very swift and efficient in serving a large number of people in a short amount of time which showed their commitment to the prevention of COVID-19 in Pakistan. Speaking at the inaugural session of the vaccination center, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that the purpose of setting up a vaccination center is to support the mass vaccination drive of the government to make Pakistan a coronavirus free country. Hamza Shafqaat, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad was all praises for the ICCI to have been at the forefront of the vaccination campaign and encouraged people to benefit from such facilities as soon as they can to ensure a safer and stronger community.
